I’ve a lifelong obsession with eco friendly found materials and have designed in fiber, wood, ceramics and metal. The things that really attract me are textile qualities, colors, textures, and historic and newly developed techniques.
Fiber art began when the first person twined grass together to create rope. It is the most ancient of working techniques. As a fiber artist, I weave, crochet, embroider, and combine with other materials and modern tools and techniques.
It is an honor to make eco-friendly intimate, artistic, personal pieces for others. Through my work, I show people that their belongings can live longer, be restyled and be regenerated. It's exciting to witness people's enthusiasm and gratitude that their clothing won't be discarded. That they won't be part of the problem. I approach my functional items just as I would artwork.
